A lot to consider but maybe prudent to back story things a little. Mahmoud Abbas was elected as Gaza's leader in 2005 & then banned elections. So he's 19 years into a 4 year term. Protestors oddly omit this or quietly support this. Might mean as Ben suggests, Australia may not be the country for you. The cries he's not from Hamas is odd seeing Hamas massively flourished since Israel left Gaza in 2005. Yes Israel left Gaza but Israel didn't just leave, they forcibly removed all Jews/Israelis from Gaza. They even exhumed the dead & buried Israelis & took them out of Gaza. The idea that Israel surrounds & is strangling the border of Gaza is an odd one too. Why is there conspicuous ommission of Egypt who also share a border with Gaza...with a heavily fortified wall? And how did Isra...
